What’s Going on
March 4, 2013
As we head into month 7 with our women and children’s discipleship recovery home we have seen so much of Gods love, grace, direction, and provision. We are watching women be set free from not only addictive behavior but addictive mind sets and healed from the wounds that started the cycle in the first place. It is amazing to show up and see what He has in store next!
Thank you to those who have come alongside in every way with your support and prayers! God continues to answer those prayers and we are excited to see what the future has in store!
As we move forward with vision for our discipleship women’s home , the food bank, the hope to expand with a men’s home and transition home for our graduates beginning in September we invite you to continue on this journey with us …
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on us because the Lord has anointed us to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent us to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord ’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations. Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. (Isaiah 61:1-4, 7 NIV)
On September 1st, 2012 Second Step Living began a new phase with new life. Our first women’s home opened thanks to an amazing community effort and many blessings from God. We are so thankful for His loving guidance the incredible work He is doing in the lives of all Second Step participants. The Second Step Living Program has come alive with the support of our community and the churches of Lodi.
